26 week pictures

So, here are the pictures from last week at 26 weeks pregnant. I have 2 of them and they're almost exactly the same but double the fun, eh?I took these right before my appointment when I measured big. Do I look BIG in these pictures? Well, the answer is yes but that is because I AM big. I'm short, my uterus is completely in the front of my stomach (so my dr tells me), so it comes with the territory. :)

Here's what you missed

So...if you missed out last Wednesday on all of the pregnancy scares, here's what you missed...
...Nothing!
Last Wednesday, the nurse told me I was measuring 6 weeks bigger than I should be(I measured at 32 wks and I was 26 wks), I had gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time, I've been having some contractions, etc. We were worried. So we had an ultra sound yesterday to see what was going on. Nothing. The baby measured completely normal, I measured completely normal, no signs of preterm labor, I lost 2 pounds. It was all good! It sure was nice to get an ultrasound out of the whole ordeal. Thank you, nurse, for measuring wrong. :) Our sweet baby boy was being so funny and doing tricks for us during the ultrasound. He kept sticking his tongue out, smiling, moving his arms and legs. He was putting on a show! I already love him so much!
Hayley got to meet him for the first time, since she came to the ultrasound. On the way there she was SO happy and saying yes to ALL of my questions so I asked her if she wanted to meet her little brother and she said, "No.". I asked her a couple more random questions and got yesses and asked her AGAIN about meeting her little brother and she said, "No." I'm thinking someone would rather stay an only child with ALL of the attention...oh well! Sorry, Hayley.
And guess what? I CAN wait to see him. I'd rather have a 42 week baby than a 28 week baby any day!
So there you have it! We are all good! :) Thank you for those of you that were concerned. We appreciate knowing others care about this precious little boy.

No way!

I just had to share this.

Last night, I get home from work and Hayley was so happy to see me.

We played for a little bit and then I asked her a question (I don't even remember what the question was), to which she replies with perfect pronunciation, "No way." Seriously? Davey was so proud of her and tells me he taught her to say that because it is cute. I have to admit, I am proud of her for saying it with perfect pronunciation but come on, can we teach her to say something not so negative? She now has 4 ways of declining a question. "No", "Nope", "Uh uh", and "No way".

I am proud that she is always asking, "What's that?" with her eyebrows raised, her arms up and shrugging her shoulders. It may just be the cutest thing in the world! Her vocabulary is expanding so quickly and she sounds so old when she says certain things.
I love this girl!

It is also great to see her walking. Wow! A week after taking a couple steps, she was walking almost perfectly throughout our entire house! It is funny because at all of her doctors visits, she has been around the 10th percentile for height and I never thought she looked short...until she started walking! Now she really looks like a midget! It makes her look a lot younger because she looks so short but she walks everywhere. haha.

I have another doctor's appt today. I'm 26 weeks and so far, everything is going just fine. I looked at a picture of right before I delivered Hayley and I swear, I am the same size now as I was with her at 36 wks. I get asked multiple times a day when I am going to pop or people saying, "Wow, looks like you won't be here much longer." Really? I have 14 weeks left! I will be here much longer! So since I don't have a more recent picture of what my belly looks like right now, I'll just give you a picture of what I looked like at 35 wks with Hayley...same diff...use your imagination. :)

From past to present

Davey's sister, Juli and her husband Nick came to visit in June. Their daughter is 4 months older than Hayley and it was so fun to visit.
After looking through all of the fun pictures, I've decided to do a blast from the past.
These girls are growing up way too fast!

Here they are, meeting for the first time.
Annalie at 4 months and Hayley at a week old.
Look at the size difference!
Hayley was a runt!
Look at my Mexican baby! She was SO dark when she was born! Here are the girls in October.
Annalie at 9 months and Hayley at 5 months.
(sorry, it's the best one I could find. All the others are individual pictures)
Annalie at 17 months and Hayley at 12 months.
They had so much fun playing with bubbles at Grandma Maughan's house.

We're SO funny

Last week, Mommy thought it was funny to put Hayley's bloomers on her head...Hayley thought it was funny too. :)

The next day mommy thought it was funny to mohawk Hayley's hair AND straighten it. Look how long it is!

Then, because Hayley was embarrassed by her funky hair (she did go to Costco looking like that), we put a beanie on her head and she looked so cute!

We gave her a bath to calm her hair and she LOVES baths.

After her pajamas were on, she decided to jam out when we turned the music on.

Daddy thought it was hilarious and put her in the dryer (great...).

And then, after feeding her a snack, I came in the kitchen to find her like this.

Hayley's new favorite face. She scrunches her nose and breathes in and out really fast. haha

And you may think this is a dumb picture but I was SO excited to get Andersen's carseat cover.
I love it!!!

Love my Life

This will bore you...
...it just brings back great memories and talks about my life story---that's all. :)

"We made plans to be unbreakable
Love is all we knew
No insurance for the unthinkable
Blindly get us through

We've been searching for a lifetime
Short as it may seem
Riding on the fumes that spark us
While igniting dreams

Mistakes we knew we were making
Mistakes we knew we were making
Don't think about chances we're taking
Mistakes we knew...

Driving in the rain to the hospital
Quiet aches intense
What at once just seemed the impossible
Now makes perfect sense

We held hands to face the uncomfortable
Cold and lonely room
Magazines and empty distractions
Barely got us through

Mistakes we knew we were making
Mistakes we knew we were making
Dont think about chances we're taking
Mistakes we knew...

And when we try to think of the life inside
We find ourselves looking at the world through knew eyes

What can now be said, oh little one
On the other side
Dance until the band stops playing
Sing with all your might"

I love my babies...especially the one I get to hold every day and see her bright smile. She was definitely not a mistake but we were (are) young and had no clue what we were doing. :) I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world.

To the best dad of all

Yay for this transition!
Hayley took NINE steps in a row on Sunday.
Happy Father's Day to Davey! (not that he saw her do it because by the time he came downstairs, she was tired of doing it and wouldn't stand any longer).

Being 24 weeks pregnant with an apparently athletic baby boy, I am happy to see her walk because the closer she is to walking, the closer I am to holding her hand instead of carrying her everywhere.

And now it being Tuesday, I failed to mention my amazing husband who is the best dad in the entire world.

Happy Father's Day!

From the day I said I'd marry him...

To the day we stepped outside those temple doors (and he stepped on the back of my dress and ripped it. haha)
To the day we were told we were having our baby girl early and after 24 hours of labor, she was born by c section and he stayed by my side when I was scared to death...
He has been such a wonderful dad to our sweet Mahayla and I know he will be just as phenomenal with Andersen.

{Notice the balloons behind him in this picture...sweet Daddy, celebrating his birthday and the birth of his daughter all while we were in the hospital}

He sure is a crazy daddy but the best one for our family.

We love you so much, Davey!
Thank you for being you!

And to our other great dad's, we love you both so very much and akcnowledge ALL of the things that you have done to help us throughout these past years.
Jed, thank you for raising a son who is worthy to take me to the temple and who loves me and always will. Thank you for nicknaming Hayley, Petey. I know she will love you when she is older even though she is just so darn timid with you right now. She is lucky to have a wonderful grandpa.
To my daddy, you have always been there for me, even when I told you I hated you a million times. You have given me so much and I love the way you love my husband and daughter. You make us all feel so special and we love you. Thank you for taking Hayley when I get frusterated with her and helping us through those colicky days. She is lucky to have a wonderful grandpa.
