Ok, so here's how the story goes. I went in for my Tuesday Dr's appt and the nurse took my blood pressure. The first time, it is 140/94...kinda high...so she tried it again and then it was 144/104...only getting worse! The third time she did it with a manual test, the one you have to pump up yourself and that one was still 140/104 so she had me lay on my left side for 15 minutes and when she took it after that, it was like 136/82...whoohoo! I was so excited because I figured everything was fine if she got those results. But then she said that since it made a difference by laying down, I'd be laying down for the remainder of my pregnancy. The Dr wanted to see us again on Thursday and after 2 days of bedrest, we went back in to have my blood pressure checked. It was 136/90...a tiny bit better, but still high. Dr Holmes told me I was being admitted to the hospital and they would watch my blood pressures to make sure they didn't get higher again. And also, keep in mind I had every other symptom of pre-eclampsia...rapid weight gain (ugh!), so much swelling, headaches...plus, my Mom and sister have both had pre-eclampsia with a pregnancy before so I have the family history background also. ugh.
But let me tell you, nothing short of a miracle happened in that 24 hr stay at the hospital. My blood pressures were never above 120/80...not a single time...so I was released after 24 hr observation. I don't doubt that a miracle happened in that hospital. I wasn't doing anything differently or even eating differently and I am just grateful to officially be back home and again on strict home bedrest. It's been hard...well, the word 'hard' is an understatement...but everything is worth it for my daughter.
Thank you for those of you that visited, called or prayed for Hayley and I. I cannot wait for her to finally join our family.

Hey Suzie!
I hope you are doing much better. My sister had Dr. Holmes deliver both of her babies too. Do you like him? I am looking for a new doc i think.
