Obviously, if youre a reader of this blog, you know most of this information already but Im posting my Christmas letter on here. :)
2009 has come and gone so quickly and I have no idea where the time went. It seems like we just found out we were expecting our baby boy and he is two months old already! Our year has been filled with so much happiness and laughter and we are so very thankful for our amazing friends and family. Life would not be the same without you.
David works at Paradise Bakery and just got promoted to baker. He loves his job and juggles that full time while going to school full time! He has been taking all night classes this semester and we are so happy for that to change in January so we can see him more often. Davey sacrifices so much for our family by staying as busy as he is and we are so grateful for everything he does for our family.
I still work at Gilbert Pediatrics 4 days a week. When I’m not there, I am usually spending all of my extra time with my beautiful children. I started out 2009 as a receptionist at Gilbert Ped’s, in February I changed to the referrals coordinator and after coming back from my maternity leave a couple weeks ago, I now work in billing. J I am so grateful for my job and have decided that if I need to be working right now, at least I can say that I love my job and the people I work with.
Mahayla(“Hayley”) is growing up way too fast. I feel like someone pushed a fastforward button on her life and all of a sudden, she walks, talks, and has a mind of her own. She has an attitude adjacent to her mother’s and was born with a true firecracker personality. She can repeat almost any word we say (which is not always a good thing J) and comprehends many of them. She loves stuffed animals, baby dolls, blankets, music, and dancing though her favorite thing would probably be her new baby brother. She never harms him and has always been gentle with him. Hayley is 18 months old now and looks no older than 12 months. She is just about the shortest little thing I’ve ever seen but her personality makes up in size what her height doesn’t. J She has recently taken a liking to jewelry, make up and dress ups…and also dirt. Hayley is hard to describe because she is a princess tomboy. No one really knows what she’ll grow up to be like but it will be fun to see.
Our sweet baby boy, Andersen, was just born on October 7th, 2009 and has been such a joy to have. He is the most calm, low maintenance baby I have ever met and loves to eat, sleep, and cuddle. He is turning into quite the chubba wubba these days. I sometimes feel like when he eats, he thinks we wont feed him for a couple days so he scarfs down about 8 oz to make sure he’ll be able to make it until his next feeding (3 hours later!). So far, he has kept his fire red hair and I just say a prayer every day that he’ll keep it. J It is the cutest thing! He has been a wonderful sleeper, just like his sister, and usually sleeps 9-12 hours at night. His smiles are huge and often and can brighten any day of ours. We are so grateful for such an adorable and cuddly son.
This year, we welcomed a niece on the Maughan side (Brooklyn Kay) and a nephew on the Guthrie side (John Kai). Brooklyn was born 3 days after Andersen and Kai was born 6 weeks after that! Our families just seem to keep growing and growing and we love each and every one of them. At this time of year when we reflect on the birth of our Savior, we are so grateful for the many things he sacrificed so that we could live on this earth together and someday return to live with our Heavenly Father.
We hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Love,
Davey, Suzanne, Hayley and Andersen Maughan
