We were privileged enough to watch Kai last Wednesday while Andrea and JP went on a date and brought us yummy food for lunch. The reason for the lunch was NOT a thank you for watching Kai but a dinner they owed us---because we beat them in Rook this year!!! The past 2 years, we have played Rook and kept tally of our score as couples and at the end of the year, whoever has a lower score owes the other couple dinner. Last year they won by a little bit...this year, we won by a landslide! The reason we ended our Rook journey in August was because they left for China this week.
Anyway, so we babysat Kai Bear. I love him to death! He ended up getting really dirty eating in the high chair so I figured I'd throw him in the bathtub with my kids [not literally]. He HATED it...and I think even that was an understatement. My Andy Bubba has outgrown his fear of the tub but apparently, Kai hasnt. Look at that face...

After I dried him off, he was once again a happy camper. I love his blue/grey eyes so much.

We also found out that he LOVES our jumparoo. I dont think he'd ever been in one and he seriously stayed in here for maybe 20 minutes...and that's a lot for Kai, who is not usually content doing something by himself for more than 20 seconds. :)

After Andersen woke up from his nap, Hayley walked right into their room and climbed up into his bed...I had NO idea she could 1. do that at all and 2. do it so quickly! So I decided to plop Kai in there as well and snap some pictures. They all loved it and were jumping on the side of the crib.

Now onto the family goodbye party...Andrea and JP had us over that Saturday night for pizza and swimming since that would be the last time Jamie and Sam would see them. We played Wii and just had fun together. Before Jamie and Sam had to leave, we got some pictures of the kids who would cooperate (meaning Sammy didnt want pictures so he's not in any of them). Here is the first picture...kind of an outtake, if you will. :)

And the better version. Such adorable kiddos!

Happy Kai Bear...I cant believe the next time Ill hold him in my arms, he'll be walking and talking.

I love his facial expressions. He is always so animated.

Andrea and Kai...I picked this picture because I LOVED how Kai looked.

And this picture because I loved how Andrea looked...haha...we are weird like that and take a bunch of pictures and decide on the best one. That's what ya gotta do with crazy kiddos. :)

I am really missing them already and it's been 2 days since they left. I got to Skype with Andrea tonight and they've made it safe and sound to China. Kai is doing well considering the huge time difference he is adjusting to. I have also emailed with her back and forth about 5 times tonight...because we both miss each other that much already.
As you can see, this is going to be a LONG 9 months...

Fun pictures!!! I can't believe they're going to China - I'll have to get the scoop on that (I'm sure he knows). P.S. - My mom has a pattern for sleeping bags - I can see what it is? I briefly looked for one at the store when I went to buy a thimble (scout patches), but didn't see one.
