I just wanted to post about our miserable little girl today just in case anyone was curious as to what is going on with her.
Last night, Hayley started having high fevers but after giving her motrin, she went to bed and slept just fine all night.
This morning, she woke up with a fever of 103 again and was shaking uncontrollably in my arms.
I took her in to see my dad and when he looked at her throat, he diagnosed her with stomatitis. She has a bunch of white puss bubbles down her throat and we thought this viral infection was what was causing her fevers.
All of a sudden, she started to whimper and I went over to see what was wrong. I touched her arm and she was burning up. I took her temperature twice and it read 106.8 and then 106.0.
I called my dad and he ordered blood work right away and sent us to the lab. After an hour wait for what was a STAT lab (the nurses didnt notice that it was STAT until they were ready to call us back anyway. ug), my poor girl got her blood drawn.
Then it was off to my dad's office to get a urine sample for them to culture.
We came back to my parent's house, since my mom had dropped everything to watch our son all morning, and let Hayley rest on their couch.
Around 5pm, my dad called to say that her blood results came back positive for a certain bacteria and she needed to come back to his office for a Rocephin shot. Her urine culture was also back and was positive for a UTI.

Around 5pm, my dad called to say that her blood results came back positive for a certain bacteria and she needed to come back to his office for a Rocephin shot. Her urine culture was also back and was positive for a UTI.
The shot was miserable since it is a thick consistency that takes awhile to be injected. Hayley cried for a long time after that and even refused chocolate from two people, one of them being her own Grandpa.
To better explain the blood results, her white blood cell count came back a lot higher than normal, which shows that instead of her blood being mostly sterile, it contains bacteria in it which makes her sick. The rocephin should fight off some of the bacteria and then she will be on antibiotics for the next 10 days to kill all of the remaining bacteria.
We have been praying all day that she would start to recover and our prayers were answered tonight. She is still miserable but she ate her first meal of the day (which consisted of half a pickle, one bite of a sandwich, and about 10 bites of mac n cheese) and her fever finally broke around 7pm and was back down to 98.6 when we put her to bed.
I also want to mention how grateful I am to be married to a worthy priesthood holder. We were really worried about Hayley so we asked my brother in law to come over and assist with Davey in giving her a blessing.
Right after my brother left, Hayley flashed the biggest [and only] smile she has given anyone today and started to talk a bit more. She has been lethargic all day so this was such a huge blessing to see.
We know that our prayers are being answered and that our darling girl will feel better soon. I feel so bad for her tiny body to be fighting off 3 illnesses at once but we know she is a fighter and will pull through.
And at least one of our kids was happy today...the one who smashed banana all over his face during dinner and had to be put in the bathtub immediately following.
