Hiking

For Labor Day, we were invited to go hiking with Davey's Uncle Joel and his family. I thought we were doing some easy trail hike but apparently, I was about to relive some of my past on this hike. :) A lady from Joel's ward wanted to hike the 3rd year girl's camp hike because she is in charge of it this year...so out we went. We started up on the rim and ended in Camp Lomia. I dont remember it being that hard on my body but then again, I was 14 years old and probably 75 pounds lighter at the time. Anyway, the only pictures I have are from my phone because I left my camera at home but there are still lots of pictures (because it's me we're talking about).

Davey thought it would be fun to put his car in neutral and ride it down a small hill in the church parking lot by Lomia. Im just glad he didnt smash our car! Not a very good idea, if you ask me but at least he was having fun. :)
Gracie always has fun faces for me. I'm proud of her tiny 11 year old body for finishing the hike with almost no complaining.
Hiking down a ravine.
The view from up above me.
There were lots of fallen trees. Even though I did this hike as a kid, it's so different now because of all the dead trees.
Davey waving hi.
All the girls who came to try it out who are actually in Joel and Ginger's ward and are going to girls camp this year.
Davey happy that we finished the hike.
Ginger and Rylee posing for me...and Rylee's friend, Tenille, in the background. :)
I'm so glad we had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. I'm also thankful for my parents who took my kids over night, not because we slept out here overnight but because we were leaving at 5am, my mom volunteered to take them all night long. She is the bomb (and...my kids woke up at ELEVEN am for her and were angels!). :)
Though my legs hurt A LOT today, I'm thinking we are going to need to go hiking more often and take our kids also so they can grow up enjoying the mountains as much as we do.
