Because my dr says so...

On Monday, I had another doctors appt. "Another?", you might ask. And I'll asnwer that question with a, "Yes, another doctor." Three of them to be exact. The new patient visit I made last month with a family doctor was originally just supposed to be made so that I could have a "primary care physician" with my insurance, therefore being able to get into the two specialists I've needed to see. They ended up wanting blood work, just to make sure I was a healthy person in general. Before getting the results from my blood test (actually before I even went to get the blood drawn), I had an appointment with an allergist for food and seasonal allergy problems. I was given a breathing treatment [apparently, my breathing is not so good in general and they wanted to see if the treatment would improve it], 4 medications [one of those being an epipen since my last allergic reaction was borderline anaphylactic] and more blood work. So...being the smart person that I am, I went in on the same day to Sonora Quest and got both sets of labs done at the same time. That was 3 weeks ago. Fast forward to this past Monday. I had my follow up visit with the family dr to go over my blood work. He went through everything and as he came across cholesterol, I was extremely nervous [since I havent been doing well with my diet lately]. He passed it by, saying it was perfect. Yesss!!! Then he came to my "good cholesterol" and said it was too low. *Umm, ok?* and he also pointed out that my triglycerides were too high. Darn...I am not out of the water. He sent me home with a "what not to eat/what to eat" guide but told me that exercise would be the best and most helpful thing for my high triglycerides/low good cholesterol. I've exercised every day since then (ha, all two days) and plan to keep it up. The healthy eating has been so-so. Sometimes I make good choices, sometimes I make bad ones. But I'd like to live as long as possible---preferably to three digit ages---so I am going to do my best to listen to the doctor and get my weight down. I have three months before I have to get recheck blood work done. Allergist appt #2 is this next Monday. We will go over my food allergy list (which is huge, by the way) and he'll ask how my medications have been working for my seasonal allergies/asthma. I'll tell him those 3 meds have changed my life and thank him profusely. And for my third and final doctor [for now], I will see the ENT next Wednesday. Because I snore. Dont make fun. It's ruining my life. Or my husband's. Sometimes both of us. My husband actually thinks I have sleep apnea but we will see about that after I endure a sleep study [scared to death about that, by the way. who wants to be sleeping in a testing center with little electrodes hooked up to your face? not me!]. I know what you're thinking. "Just lose some weight, Suzanne!" but I have actually lost a significant enough amount of weight [as in, I wasnt snoring this badly the last time I weighed 164 pounds] and am still snoring so my dad suggested the ENT. I know you're bored out of your mind by now. But just in case you did want to know about any of this, here it is! If you didnt want to know and you honestly read this anyway, not my problem. :)

Allergies are the PITS! Here in Safford, when the cotton is being harvested, my eyes swell shut every night and I get to see my doctor for a steroid shot. Fun, right? Not really. So I feel for ya' there. Good luck getting it all under control. Every once in a while it's good to give Suze updates too. :)
